What to Bring from Your Wearable to a Healthcare Appointment

A long stream of screenshots can be difficult to interpret during a short appointment. A smaller, organized record helps a healthcare professional see why you are concerned and decide whether clinical evaluation is appropriate.

Prepare dates, context, and the questions you want to ask.

Prepare a one-page summary

  • Your device model and the feature used.
  • The dates and times of the relevant observations.
  • What you were doing and how you felt.
  • Whether the result repeated under similar conditions.
  • Any questions you want answered.

Keep the original export or screenshots available, but lead with the summary. Do not edit a trace or remove inconvenient results.

Bring conventional records when requested

If your clinician asked for home blood pressure measurements, follow the recommended device and technique. A wearable wrist estimate may not be interchangeable with a clinically validated upper-arm monitor. Bring your medication list and any instructions you were given.

Let the clinician interpret the data

A wearable trend can add context, but it cannot diagnose a condition or establish a treatment plan. Ask what measurements are useful going forward and when you should seek help. If symptoms are urgent, do not wait for a scheduled appointment or another device reading.
